Former COAS Buratai Leads Dignitaries in Honouring Late Army Chief Lagbaja

In a solemn tribute, former Chief of Army Staff and ex-Nigerian Ambassador to Benin, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai (rtd), led a delegation of dignitaries to pay respects to the family of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, on Friday, at Niger Barracks, Abuja.
Lt. Gen. Buratai, joined by distinguished military and civilian figures, extended heartfelt condolences to the widow, Mrs. Maria Lagbaja, and her family at the Flag Staff House.
Reflecting on the late COAS’s legacy, Buratai shared memories of Lagbaja’s service under his command and offered prayers for the family’s strength, emphasising the impact of Lagbaja’s dedicated service to Nigeria.
After his tribute, Buratai penned a message in the condolence register, capturing the gravity of the moment.
Among the dignitaries present were Lt. Gen. Lamidi Adeosun (rtd), former Chief of Policy and Plans; Maj. Gen. Iliya Abba (rtd), former Military Secretary and MNJTF Commander; Brig. Gen. Sani Kukasheka Usman (rtd), former Army Spokesperson; and Alhaji Manzo Ahmed, a respected public servant and businessman.
Their collective presence underscored the deep respect and admiration for Lagbaja’s life and contributions to the nation.
