General Musa Delivers Bold Christmas Message: “2025 Will Be Defining for Nigeria’s Security”

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has vowed to intensify efforts toward achieving lasting peace in Nigeria, describing 2025 as a defining year for national security.

General Musa issued this assurance during a Christmas Day interview with journalists following a charity visit to patients at the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) Medical Centre.

The visit, coinciding with his birthday, was marked by a display of compassion as he presented gifts to patients and expressed appreciation to medical personnel for their dedication.

Reflecting on the military’s achievements in 2024, the Defence Chief highlighted significant progress in combating terrorism and insecurity across the nation.

“I think since we started to where we are today, there is a remarkable improvement in the security situation, and we are going to take that further. Next year will be defining, as we aim to ensure Nigeria remains peaceful,” General Musa stated.

He emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among Nigerians in achieving sustainable peace.

“Peace isn’t automatic, but with collective cooperation, prayers, and actionable support from Nigerians, we can make it happen. God is with us always,” he added.

In a stern warning, the CDS condemned individuals trading with terrorists and bandits, stressing that such collaborations ultimately endanger lives.

“These groups have no respect for anyone. Trading with them is like inviting trouble to your doorstep. If we do not support or encourage them, they will not survive,” he cautioned.

During his visit, General Musa reaffirmed the military’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel, revealing that the new DHQ hospital, set for completion next year, would deliver enhanced medical care to members of the Armed Forces and their families.

The Defence Chief concluded his Christmas message with prayers for the recovery of sick soldiers and their families, underscoring his determination to see a peaceful and secure Nigeria for all.
