In a remarkable display of appreciation, a 29-year-old driver from Gombe State, Mallam Suleiman Rabiu, has completed a 700km trek from Gombe to Abuja to commend the leadership qualities of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa. Mallam Suleiman, who embarked on this journey on February 12, 2024, arrived in Abuja on February 28, 2024, after spending 16 days on the road, overcoming challenging weather conditions.

The spirited young man expressed that his trek was a gesture of gratitude for the admirable leadership qualities exhibited by General CG Musa, emphasizing the significant improvement in the security of lives and property since the assumption of office by the CDS. He particularly commended the people-centric philosophy of General Musa’s leadership that motivated him to undertake the long trek.

Highlighting the improved security situation in the country, Rabiu remarked that such a journey would have been almost impossible before due to insecurity, especially in the northeast.

Upon his arrival in Abuja, Mallam Rabiu was received on behalf of the CDS by the Acting Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, alongside Major Nneka Olima, the Assistant Director Defence Headquarters Provost, and Alhaji Hashim Hussaini, the Special Assistant to the CDS.
