Gov Sani appeals for sustained presence of Special Forces in Kaduna to combat banditry, terrorism

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has renewed his appeal for the sustained presence of Special Forces in Kaduna State to combat banditry and terrorism in the state.

Gov Sani made the appeal on Friday when he hosted the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Major General Christopher Gwabin Musa, during his courtesy visit to the state.

He also emphasized the imperative to expand the operations of Operation Safe Haven in Southern Kaduna, particularly in areas such as Zangon Kataf, Kaura, Kauru, and Sanga LGAs.

This expansion, he noted, would be pivotal in addressing security challenges in these areas and restricting the movement of criminal elements.

Additionally, the Governor called for similar measures to be implemented in the Birnin Gwari area to deter bandits and terrorists from using the Kuduru, Kuyanbana, and Kamuku Forests as hiding spots.

He noted that such actions would further impede the corridors connecting Birnin Gwari with neighbouring states, effectively cutting off routes used by criminals.

Gov Sani used the opportunity to congratulate Musa on his well-deserved promotion to the rank of Four-Star General in the Nigerian Army.

The Governor expressed the people of Kaduna State’s pride and enthusiasm in this milestone achievement, reaffirming his commitment to praying for the continued success and divine guidance of the CDS throughout his distinguished career.

Commending General Musa’s remarkable career trajectory, the Governor recounted his journey from a junior officer to pivotal roles such as Commandant of the Nigerian Army Depot Zaria, Theater Commander of Operation Hadin Kai in the North-East, and Infantry Corps Commander in Jaji, culminating in his appointment as the Chief of Defence Staff.
