Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, on Sunday, officiated the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of two flyover bridges in Bauchi, a project initiated by the Bauchi State Government.
Speaking on behalf of the Bauchi State Government, Governor Fintiri lauded Senator Bala Mohammed for his exemplary leadership and commitment to development. “With the projects I have seen in Bauchi State and the ones in the offing, including the overhead bridges we are about to flag off now, I am left with no other option than to congratulate the good people of Bauchi State for having a visionary and courageous leader like Senator Bala. The true definition of leadership often times, is not rooted in the quantum of resources at the disposal of a leader. It is more measured by the vision and courage such a leader brings to the fore in the decision of how such resources are deployed and the craft of what projects are prioritized,” said Governor Fintiri.
Governor Fintiri commended Senator Bala for the strategic design and prioritization of projects, noting that few leaders possess the courage to undertake such ambitious initiatives. He emphasized that flyover bridges are not merely symbols of urban sophistication but are practical solutions to traffic congestion, improving the flow of vehicles and easing movement in the city. “Having them in Bauchi is therefore a good decision that would continue to define the vision of Senator Bala Mohammed in solving the problem of not only the present-day Bauchi but the Bauchi of tomorrow,” he added.
Earlier, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed explained that the increasing population necessitated the construction of the flyovers, which are expected to redefine urban transportation. He highlighted that as a gateway to the North East, these infrastructural developments would leave a positive impression on first-time visitors to the region.
Governor Bala noted that the choice of Governor Fintiri to officiate the groundbreaking was intentional, describing him as a transformative leader who has significantly improved the region through various impactful projects. The event also saw the attendance of Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Zulum and Gombe State Governor Mohammad Inuwa Yahaya.
