Major General VU Okoro, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 1 Division NA, extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests, expressing his delight at their presence. In his address, Gen Okoro appraised the successful execution of the past training year, highlighting significant achievements in line with the NA training directive. Notable among these achievements were the Division’s operations, which included the rescue of over 270 kidnapped victims, neutralisation of insurgents, and the apprehension of suspected informants and collaborators. Additionally, various arms and ammunition were recovered during these operations.
“I wish to acknowledge the vital contributions of our sister security agencies in curbing criminal elements in the state, and to plead for more collaboration and support in the new year. I wish to specially appreciate the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen TA Lagbaja, for his unwavering commitment to enhancing professionalism and regimentation in the NA.”
