In a disturbing security breach, hackers have reportedly infiltrated the mobile phones of two of Nigeria’s most prominent businessmen—Aliko Dangote, CEO of the Dangote Group, and Femi Otedola, chairman of First HoldCo Plc.
Sources close to both men confirmed that the attacks occurred within the past week. While Otedola’s phone was compromised once, Dangote’s device was reportedly hacked twice within two days.
It remains unclear whether the billionaires have successfully regained full control of their devices. However, insiders revealed that the hackers have already made financial demands.

“The hackers are asking for money from both men,” a source told TheCable, sparking concerns about the scale and intent of the breach.
Dangote and Otedola, known for their decades-long friendship and mutual respect—often referring to each other as “brothers”—are yet to issue official statements on the incident.
Authorities are expected to investigate the cyber intrusion, which highlights the growing sophistication of digital threats targeting high-profile individuals in Nigeria.
