How Buratai proved his loyalty to Buhari and Nigeria with Sunday Igboho’s case

Former Chief of Army Staff, and Nigeria Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, Tukur Yusuf Buratai, has always been loyal to President Buhari and Nigeria.

The retired Army Lieutenant General is one of the prominent Nigerians who will always stand up against any person or organization that seeks to disintegrate Nigeria.

While serving the nation as the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai faced series of criticism from people but he looked undeterred in discharging his duties.

When he was retired and subsequently nominated for an ambassadorial appointment, several people shared diverse opinions, little did they know that he will be instrumental in the arrest and detention of Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho.

We were all witnesses to how Sunday Igboho and his followers almost turned the nation upside down with their unrealistic agitation for Oduduwa Nation.

His being declared wanted by the Department of State Services marked the beginning of his end, he subsequently tried escaping to Germany through the Benin Republic was his biggest mistake.

Sadly for him, the former Chief of Army Staff ensured that he does not escape but was made to face the consequences of trying to disintegrate Nigeria.

Anyone who tries to divide Nigeria is an enemy of the nation, Tukur Buratai showed that his love and loyalty for Nigeria is paramount.

Some ambassadors would not have shown concern, but Buratai played his part to make sure that peace returns to Nigeria by writing to the government of Benin Republic to alert them that Sunday Igboho has been declared wanted.

Even when Sunday Igboho was arrested, he still went further to ensure that he is detained so as not to escape. The relative peace we have in the South-West region today is because Sunday Igboho is in detention.

This is one reason we should appreciate Tukur Buratai for his unmatched display of loyalty to Buhari and Nigeria.

He showed concern towards the unity of his country and proved that he lives to serve Nigeria at all times.
