How Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan Empowered 1,720 People in Borno Central

It was a day of joy and celebration for 1,720 people in Borno Central Senatorial district, as they received various items and cash from Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan.
The empowerment package, which was flagged off by Governor Engr Babagana Umara Zulum on Monday, February 26, 2024, at the Government House in Maiduguri, was aimed at improving the livelihoods of the people and boosting the local economy.
The beneficiaries, who were selected from the eight local government areas that make up the senatorial district, expressed their gratitude to the Senator for his generosity and kindness.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Aisha Musa, who received a sewing machine, said she was happy and excited to start her own tailoring business.
“I am very grateful to Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan for giving me this sewing machine. This will help me to earn some income and support my family. I have always wanted to learn how to sew, and now I have the opportunity to do so,” she said.
Another beneficiary, Mr. Ibrahim Abubakar, who received a tricycle (Keke Napep), said he was thankful to the Senator for empowering him to become self-reliant.
“I am very thankful to Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan for giving me this tricycle. This will enable me to transport people and goods around the town and make some money. I have been looking for a job for a long time, and now I have one,” he said.
Each of the 1,720 beneficiaries also received N20,000 cash from the Senator, which they said would help them to start or expand their businesses.
Governor Zulum, who commended the Senator for his gesture, said the empowerment package would promote development at the grassroots level and alleviate the suffering of the people.
He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items and cash they received and to be productive and responsible citizens.
Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan, who delivered his remarks, said the distribution was part of his campaign promise to his constituents. He assured them that he would continue to provide more support and assistance to them.
He also thanked Governor Zulum for his support and cooperation, and the APC leaders and members for their solidarity and loyalty.
The event was attended by the Deputy National Chairman (North) of the APC, Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, the Chairman of APC Borno State, Hon. Bello Ayuba, the member representing Maiduguri at the House of Representatives, Abdulkadir Rahis, and other dignitaries and stakeholders.
