IGP Disu Urges Vigilance as Police Roll Out Robust Security for Easter Celebrations
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, has extended heartfelt greetings to Christian faithful across Nigeria as they observe Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday, commemorating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In line with his commitment to public safety, the IGP has directed Commissioners of Police and Tactical Commanders nationwide, including the Federal Capital Territory, to enforce comprehensive security arrangements during the festive period. Measures include the deployment of tactical teams, intelligence operatives, the Special Intervention Squad, and conventional police personnel to churches, worship centers, critical infrastructure, highways, motor parks, and recreational areas.
Heightened visibility policing, coordinated patrols, intelligence-led stop-and-search operations, and enhanced surveillance will also be conducted to deter criminal activity and ensure swift response to potential threats.
IGP Disu called on citizens to remain vigilant, cooperate with law enforcement agencies, and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or via emergency lines: 08057000001, 08057000002, 09133333785, and 09133333786.
