Nigeria Police Force Reiterates Zero-Tolerance Stance on Corruption
The Nigeria Police Force is currently addressing disturbing allegations of extortion and unethical conduct linked to the ongoing promotion interviews for inspectors seeking advancement to Assistant Superintendent of Police.
This was contained in a press statement signed by ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, made available to newsmen in Abuja.
“Such actions starkly contravene the foundational values of the force and are unequivocally unacceptable.
The statement said that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has issued a stern warning against any corrupt practices in the promotion process.
He has urged all officers to report any instances of misconduct without delay.
The IGP has introduced dedicated hotlines: 09077120194 for direct reports to his office and 08037168147 for the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO).
Amid these serious allegations, the Nigeria Police Force is reinforcing its commitment to maintaining transparency and accountability throughout the promotion procedures. Officers engaging in corrupt activities for personal advancement will face stringent disciplinary actions.
The force calls on all members to adhere to ethical standards, ensuring that the integrity and credibility of the institution remain intact.
The Force Public Relations Officer emphasised the necessity for all officers to uphold the highest standards of conduct in service to the nation.
