Iran has issued a stern warning to the United States and Israel following what officials described as attempts or indications of plans to target the country’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In a statement released on Monday, senior Iranian security authorities cautioned that any move against the Supreme Leader would cross a “red line” and trigger severe repercussions. Officials did not disclose specific details but accused Washington and Tel Aviv of escalating hostile actions aimed at destabilising Iran.
“Iran will respond decisively to any threat against its leadership or territorial integrity,” the statement said, adding that the nation’s security and intelligence services remain on high alert.
The warning comes amid heightened regional tensions, including ongoing conflict in Gaza and increased friction between Iran and Israel. Tehran has repeatedly accused Israel of conducting covert operations inside Iran, including targeted assassinations of military and nuclear figures—an allegation Israel has neither confirmed nor denied.

Iranian analysts say the latest warning reflects growing concern in Tehran over perceived external threats, especially as the US continues to strengthen security cooperation with Israel.
While Washington has not responded to the latest claims, US officials have in the past dismissed Iran’s accusations as baseless, insisting that American policy remains focused on diplomacy and regional stability.
Iran warned that any miscalculation by its adversaries would be met with a swift and forceful response, stressing that “protecting the Supreme Leader is defending the nation.”
As tensions continue to simmer, regional observers fear that further escalation could draw the Middle East into a deeper cycle of confrontation.
