Kind Stranger Returns N26,000 After Lady Wrong Transfer

A Nigerian woman, Akinwade Maj Royal, has recounted her relief after mistakenly sending N26,000 to the wrong Opay account from her GTBank account.

In a post on Facebook, she shared screenshots of her WhatsApp conversation with the account holder, revealing an unexpectedly positive outcome. According to her, the transfer error initially caused panic and distress. 

“I mistakenly transferred 26,000 to this person today. I only copied and pasted the account number without realizing it was wrong until after authorizing with my fingerprints,” she wrote. “My mind was everywhere, and I tried to calm myself to avoid losing my peace.”

Attempts to reach the recipient by phone initially failed, with calls dropping and the number seemingly switched off. However, after sending a WhatsApp message explaining the situation, she received a prompt and helpful response.

“To my surprise, Baba Ali Mallowan refunded my money without any hassle,” she said. “Yes, there are still good Nigerians. I have prayed for him, and my heart will continue to pray for him.”

Her post quickly gained attention online, with many users sharing their own experiences of wrong transfers and commending the integrity shown by the man who returned her funds.
