Kogi Guber: Nigerian Army bars policemen escorting politician

A heated argument broke out between soldiers and policemen at a checkpoint in Agbadu Bunu village, Kaba/Bunu Local Government Area, Kogi State, on Saturday.
The cops were purportedly accompanying a politician in a convoy of three vehicles during the election.
Three Toyota Jeeps with tints were part of the convoy that was stopped with other cars.
Their “principal” was in the rear of the Jeep, and it was noted that the policeman got out to greet the soldiers when the convoy came to an end.

One of the soldiers said, “You are not on election duty,” rejecting the policemen’s attempts to reason with the soldiers. Return now!”
The soldier queried, ” Are they (policemen) supposed to be moving around during the election? They should tell their principal to come down and explain to our oga.
Today is not for the ‘big man’ to be moving around. Let all politicians stay in their house to go and vote.”
Before the military let the policemen through, it took them more than thirty minutes.
There were numerous other large vehicles at the location that the military had loaded.
