According to the directive, the affected roads to be cordoned off from 7:00 a.m. include King George V Road at the junction by Mobil Filling Station, Onikan Roundabout inbound to TBS, Flagstaff House inbound to TBS, Outer Marina by State House inbound to TBS, Campbell Street by the Old Defence Building, and Catholic Mission Street by St. Nicholas Hospital.
Motorists and residents have been advised to plan their movements accordingly and make use of alternative routes during the period of the closure.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) outlined diversion plans to ease traffic flow. Vehicles coming from Obalende towards Onikan Roundabout will be redirected to Zone 2, while those approaching from Bonny Camp to McEwen Bridge, as well as motorists descending from Flagstaff House towards TBS, will be diverted to Obalende Bridge. Similarly, vehicles moving from Outer Marina towards TBS will also be rerouted through Obalende Bridge.
The state government expressed regret over any inconvenience the road closures may cause and appealed for public cooperation to ensure a smooth and successful carnival.
