The 2025 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) celebrated the best of African cinema in grand style, with Nollywood stars Lateef Adedimeji and Tina Mba, as well as Burna Boy’s co-produced film 3 Cold Dishes, emerging as some of the biggest winners of the night.
Held in Lagos, the prestigious event honoured exceptional talent, creativity, and storytelling across the continent. Lateef Adedimeji won Best Actor in a Leading Role for his powerful performance in The Last Breath, while veteran actress Tina Mba took home the Best Actress award for her moving role in Echoes of Silence.

Afrobeats icon Burna Boy, who co-produced 3 Cold Dishes, celebrated a major milestone as the film clinched multiple awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Cinematography. The film, which explores the intertwined lives of three women seeking justice after years of pain, received standing ovations for its emotional depth and production quality.
The night also featured dazzling red-carpet moments and musical performances celebrating Africa’s creative spirit. With record-breaking entries from over 25 countries, the 2025 AMAA reaffirmed its position as Africa’s most prestigious platform for honouring excellence in film.
