The Yobe Chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has called on the State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) to shun partisan politics.
Briefing newsmen in Damaturu, IPAC chairman Alhaji Umar Jajere said the call was necessary in view of the upcoming local government council elections in the state.

According to him, SIEC should conduct the elections with fear of God and in line with the provisions of the law.
“We acknowledge the commitment of Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni to making sure the election takes place in a free, fair, and conducive environment.

“We assured the government and the good people of the state that equal playing field will be provided by all the candidates of various registered political parties,”  he said.

Jajere also charged all political parties in the state to present their candidates in the elections slated for May 25.
The chairman called on all eligible voters to come out en- masse to vote for candidates of their choice.
