LSSTF Launches Inaugural Aerial Surveillance Operation to Boost Security in Lagos

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has officially commenced its first aerial surveillance operation across Lagos, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing safety and security across the state.

The initiative was unveiled by the Executive Secretary/CEO of LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, alongside the Commissioner of Police, Nigeria Police Air Wing, CP Martin Nwogoh; the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, CP Olohundare Moshood; and the Administrative Director of LSSTF, Mr. Adegbola Lewis.

Following the formal launch, Dr. Ogunsan and senior officers embarked on an operational tour aboard the surveillance aircraft. The flight covered key areas of the state, enabling officials to assess the aircraft’s coverage capacity and gain firsthand insight into how the program will monitor critical locations and strategic corridors effectively.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Ogunsan assured residents that the state’s security architecture has been further strengthened through the introduction of regular and strategically deployed aerial surveillance missions. He explained that the initiative is designed to enhance rapid response capabilities, improve situational awareness, and strengthen inter-agency coordination among security stakeholders.

The LSSTF boss also expressed appreciation to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for endorsing the project, as well as to donors whose contributions made the initiative possible.

Other dignitaries present at the launch included CSP Sunday Abraham, Pilot, Nigeria Police Airwing; CSP Nuradeen Kusa; CSP Shola Jejejeloye, Commander, Rapid Response Squad; DCP Lawal Adesina, DC Operations, Lagos Police Command; ACP Oyewuwo Tesleem, Flight Operations, Police Airwing; and CSP Silver Gwamma, Flight Engineer, Nigeria Police Airwing.

The aerial surveillance operation marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts of the Nigeria Police Force and the Lagos State Government to safeguard lives and property across Lagos.
