Mohbad: Naira Marley in police net
The Lagos State Police Command on Tuesday night stated that it had arrested controversial musician Azeez Fashola, alias Naira Marley, for his involvement with the death of his erstwhile record label signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba, alias Mohbad.
According to the Lagos State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, “Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, has been taken into custody for interrogation and other investigation activities.”
Naira Marley had earlier announced his coming to Lagos to aid in the ongoing investigation into Mohbad’s death in a tweet on Tuesday night, saying that he would be meeting with police.
He said, “I’d like to share that I’ve just arrived back in Lagos, Nigeria to assist the authorities with the ongoing investigation. It’s important I do my part for Imole.
“I’ll be meeting with the police with hopes for the truth to be uncovered and for justice to prevail.”

OURNIGERIA reports that MohBad died on September 12 at age 27.
The police had already summoned Naira Marley and controversial music promoter Balongun Eletu, nicknamed Sam Larry (who is now in police jail), for questioning in connection with Mohbad’s death.
Last Monday, the police also announced that pathologists had completed the autopsy on Mohbad, and they were awaiting the results.
In an interview, the police spokesman said, “Autopsy has been concluded. Awaiting results.” This development followed the exhumation of Mohbad by a combined team of the Nigeria Police Force and health officials.
According to reports, the police also arrested the nurse who allegedly injected the deceased musician before his death on Tuesday, September 12.
Last Friday, a coroner’s inquest into Mohbad’s death began in the Lagos State Magistrate’s Court in Ikorodu.
