As of April 1, 2026, Musk’s net worth stands at $817 billion, reflecting a significant dip driven by broader market declines. Major indices, including the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite, each fell nearly five percent during the month, partly due to heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
Musk was among five of the world’s top 10 richest individuals who recorded losses exceeding $20 billion within the period. His wealth remains heavily tied to his stakes in Tesla and SpaceX.
Earlier this year, SpaceX completed a major merger with Musk’s artificial intelligence venture, xAI, in a deal valued at $1.25 trillion. The transaction briefly pushed his fortune to a record $852 billion before market pressures and sector-specific challenges triggered a pullback.
Despite the decline, Musk still holds a commanding lead over his closest rival, Larry Page, whose net worth dropped by $20 billion to $237 billion.
Other prominent billionaires also saw shifts in their fortunes. Jeff Bezos stands at $223 billion, followed by Sergey Brin with $219 billion, and Mark Zuckerberg at $196 billion. Larry Ellison holds $189 billion, while Jensen Huang, Michael Dell, Rob Walton, and Bernard Arnault round out the top 10.
