NGO advocates consideration for vulnerable children in budget planning
An NGO, Smile Givers Initiative and Charity Home, on Sunday in Ibadan advocated consideration for vulnerable children in budget planning at all levels of government to reduce crime.
The advocacy was raised by Mr Mofoluwaso Johnson an official of the NGO who represented its Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Adetutu Adegunju, at the Christmas Gracia 2021 is held.
The event was held to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and share with vulnerable children as well as orphans in the community.
Johnson enjoined governments and well-to-do individuals to extend philanthropy to the grassroots because every community has vulnerable children.
“Putting smiles on the faces of fellow citizens irrespective of the class would give birth to a peaceful nation.
“That’s why we concentrate on these little ones to put smiles on their faces. We budgeted for 100 children, but eventually, we had like 120 children,’’ he said.
Children in attendance could not hide their joy as they went home with gifts.
