The Nigerian Army has confirmed that Brig.-Gen. M.A. Sadiq, the immediate past Commander of the 3 Brigade in Kano, is under military investigation for administrative discrepancies during his tenure.
This was revealed in a statement by the Director of Army Public Relations, Maj.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, on Wednesday in Abuja.
According to Nwachukwu, Brig.-Gen. Sadiq was relieved of his command to ensure a thorough and unbiased investigation.
“The Nigerian Army is a self-regulatory institution founded on the bedrock of discipline, justice, and accountability,” Nwachukwu stated, reaffirming the army’s strict stance on discipline.
He emphasised that the army would not tolerate any actions that could undermine its core values and principles.
“The Nigerian Army assures both our internal and external publics that the allegations will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate administrative action will be taken. Our commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and transparency remains unwavering. We guarantee that the process will be fair, impartial, and in line with our established procedures,” Nwachukwu added.
