NNPC Mobilizes Over 300 Trucks to Dangote Refinery Ahead of Petrol Loading

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has positioned no fewer than 300 trucks at the Dangote Refinery in preparation for a significant petrol loading operation scheduled for Sunday, September 15, 2024.

This development was confirmed by NNPC spokesperson Olufemi Soneye in a video shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday.

Soneye stated that the trucks were arriving at the refinery’s fuel loading gantry, with operations set to begin the next day.

“NNPC Ltd. trucks are arriving at the Dangote Refinery in preparation for the scheduled petrol loading on Sunday, September 15, 2024. By the end of today, at least 300 trucks will be stationed at the refinery’s fuel loading gantry,” he said.

The arrival of the trucks underscores the readiness of both the NNPC and Dangote Refinery to ramp up fuel distribution across the country.

The refinery, touted as the largest in Africa, is expected to play a pivotal role in addressing Nigeria’s domestic fuel needs and reducing reliance on imported petrol.

As the scheduled loading approaches, the strategic mobilization of such a vast fleet of trucks signals the potential for enhanced petrol availability nationwide, easing concerns over fuel supply.

Further updates are anticipated as operations commence, marking a critical phase in the refinery’s integration into the national fuel supply chain.
