The First Lady, represented by Vice President’s wife, Nana Shettima praised the leadership of the Armed Forces of Nigeria for organising the programme.

The First Lady stated that all Nigerians must help security agencies because the country’s security issues are becoming more complicated.

According to her, security is understood to include not only military might but also the defence of human rights, social and environmental sustainability, and economic stability.

According to Mrs. Tinubu, addressing security concerns and advancing gender mainstreaming calls for teamwork.

The president’s wife further said that gender sensitivity and awareness should be a part of security personnel’s education and training programmes, stressing that women shouldn’t face prejudice because they got married or had kids while serving in the military.

She suggested that greater collaboration is needed among security services to end gender-based violence.

Prior to this, the Nigerian Armed Forces had been documented as surpassing the UN-recommended standard for female participation in this implant procedure, according to Minister of Defence Badaru Muhammad.

He said that this progress has kept the military’ operational effectiveness in numerous areas with populations both inside and outside the nation higher.

Consequently, he assured that defense will continue to place emphasis on the abolition of gender mainstreaming towards achieving peace and security in our nation.

He appreciated the First Lady for gracing this occasion as the special guest of honour for her commitment to achieving gender equality and their efforts towards eliminating societal ills against women are profiled on behalf of the ministry.
