OurNigeria News Names Charles Awuzie Entrepreneur of the Year 2025

OurNigeria News Magazine has named Charles Awuzie, a distinguished technology entrepreneur and innovator, as its Entrepreneur of the Year 2025, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to technological innovation, ethical AI advancement and his commitment to leveraging technology as a tool for poverty eradication across Africa.
The prestigious honour, according to the magazine, followed extensive consultations, recommendations from readers and correspondents, as well as the approval of the Board, Management and Award Planning Committee of OurNigeria News.
The organisers said Awuzie emerged for his “exceptional entrepreneurial vision, transformative use of technology, ethical leadership in artificial intelligence, and unwavering commitment to bridging the digital divide in Africa.”
Charles Awuzie is a full-stack web developer, blockchain investigator, AI for business strategist, cybersecurity expert and technology entrepreneur. He uniquely combines a background in Biochemistry with an Executive MBA in Strategic Business Leadership, alongside multiple technology certifications, to build scalable solutions that address Africa’s socio-economic challenges. He is the founder of Gemsbok Group and Transhuman Coin, where he leads pioneering AI-driven initiatives aimed at democratizing access to cutting-edge technology.

The 2025 edition of the OurNigeria News award, themed “Providing a Podium for Unsung Heroes,” is part of the organisation’s annual initiative dedicated to celebrating Nigerians whose work continues to create meaningful impact in national development and humanity. The event is expected to attract technology leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs and other prominent personalities.
The award ceremony is scheduled to hold on January 31, 2026, in Abuja, where Charles Awuzie will be formally honoured alongside other distinguished Nigerians.
Awuzie, who is also a sought-after international speaker and mentor, has been widely commended for his passion for artificial intelligence, advocacy for ethical technology practices and dedication to inspiring the next generation of African tech innovators—qualities which OurNigeria News said informed its decision to name him Entrepreneur of the Year 2025.
