Similarly, the Olu of Aga Olowo, Oba Kayode Adio Kusoro, emphasized the cordial relationship between the host communities and Dangote Cement, Ibese, during Nawabuddin’s tenure. He praised Nawabuddin’s attentiveness to community issues and his cooperative approach.

“The Plant Director is a good man. He listens to us. He is always concerned whenever we have issues to sort out,” Oba Kayode Adio Kusoro remarked.

Amidst applause from staff and invited guests, Mr. Ade Ojolowo, Head of Social Performance at the Ibese Plant, highlighted some of the key achievements under Nawabuddin’s leadership. These included increases in production volume and dispatch, in-house refurbishment of rollers leading to forex savings, and the championing of the Alternative Fuels Project, which resulted in significant cost savings for the company.

“As a friend of the community, Mr. Azad’s passion for the local communities as critical stakeholders to the Plant is outstanding,” said Mr. Ade Ojolowo. “Our modest achievements in Social Performance in the last couple of years have been through his personal values and commitment, which has yielded unhindered support and collaboration.”

The event served as a testament to Nawabuddin’s impactful tenure as the Plant Director, leaving behind a legacy of strengthened community-company relations and notable operational achievements.
