PDP Reaffirms Unity, Readiness for 2027 Elections

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reiterated its strength, cohesion, and readiness for the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence in its leadership and growing nationwide support.

Speaking to journalists on Friday in Bauchi, Mr. Godfrey Manassah Marti, the party’s Publicity Secretary in Bauchi State, said the PDP has successfully overcome internal challenges and is now focused on reclaiming national leadership.
Marti highlighted the recent emergence of a new National Working Committee (NWC) at the party’s National Convention held on March 29 and 30 as a key milestone in repositioning the party. He congratulated Hon. Jungudo Muhammad on his appointment as National Publicity Secretary, describing him as a competent leader capable of projecting the party’s image positively.
He also commended the role of former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, for stabilising the party through his leadership, patience, and commitment, which have helped restore confidence among members.
Focusing on Bauchi State, Marti described it as a PDP stronghold, noting that Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration has delivered tangible development since 2019, improving living standards and strengthening the party’s popularity.
Marti assured supporters that the PDP is free from internal litigation and fully prepared to field credible candidates for the 2027 elections. He urged party members to remain united and committed while encouraging Governor Mohammed to continue reconciliation efforts within the party.
Addressing speculation on Nyesom Wike’s political ambitions, Marti noted that while he has the constitutional right to contest any position, no formal declaration has been made. He dismissed reports of factional disputes and legal challenges as distractions, stressing that the PDP remains a credible alternative capable of delivering effective leadership for Nigeria.
