Rerun: Four members of Bauchi Assembly take oaths of office

Four members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly on Wednesday took oath of office.

Our correspondent reports that the four members were victorious at the Feb. 3, parliamentary re-run elections held in the state.

It could be recalled that the Appeal Court ordered for re-run election across 42 Polling Units in four State Assembly Constituencies of Bauchi Central; Zungur/Galambi, Ningi 1 and Madara/Chinade.

The members are Mr Jamilu Barade PDP, Bauchi Central; Mr Yusuf Saidu, PDP Zungur Galambi; Mr Abubakar Sulaiman PDP, Ningi 1; Dr Aminu Ala, PDP Madara/Chinade constituencies.

The members were on the floor of the House for their swearing-in during plenary presided over by the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Mr Babayo Akuyam.

Akuyam, congratulated the members for winning the rerun in their constituencies, urging them to remain loyal members of the house and work for the development of the state.

Speaking on behalf of the new members, Mr Abubakar Sulaiman, appreciated the members for giving them all the necessary support during the rerun election.
