Strengthening Ties: U.S.-Nigeria Business Council Engages with Nigerian Consulate in Atlanta

The U.S.-Nigeria Business Council (USNBC) has met with Nigeria’s Consul General in Atlanta, Amb. Auwalu Jega Namadina, to discuss enhancing trade and investment opportunities between the United States and Nigeria.

The meeting, held at the Nigerian Consulate, underscored the mutual commitment to fostering economic growth and strengthening bilateral relations.
The delegation was led by distinguished business leaders and representatives from the USNBC, including Prof. Juliet Elu from Morehouse College, Mr. Emilio DeJesus of Invectus Investments, Ms. Jonnell Mimefee of Solar Tyme USA, Mr. Kayode Aladesuyi, Founder and CEO of MyAi Robotics, and Mr. Brandon Smith, Vice President of International Trade of the USNBC.
“These leaders engaged in constructive dialogues with Amb. Namadina, emphasising the importance of enhancing commercial partnerships and exploring avenues for collaboration across various sectors.
The discussions highlighted a shared vision of leveraging the synergies between the U.S. and Nigeria to create a conducive environment for increased trade flows, investment inflows, and mutual prosperity.
According to the statement, both parties reiterated their dedication to fostering a business environment that encourages innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic development.
“Key sectors identified for collaboration included technology, agriculture, and renewable energy, underscoring Nigeria’s vast potential for trade expansion and investment as one of Africa’s largest economies.
The statement said that the meeting also emphasized the importance of cultural exchange, facilitating consular services, and enhancing diplomatic relations between the United States and Nigeria.
“We are committed to supporting initiatives that will facilitate trade and investment, create jobs, and drive economic development in Nigeria,” stated Engr. Titus Olowokere, the leader of the USNBC delegation.
The Consul General expressed gratitude for USNBC’s commitment, highlighting the importance of collaboration in achieving mutual economic goals.
Mrs. Miriam Udezor, the Consul for Trade and Investment, noted, “We are eager to work closely with the USNBC to create an enabling environment for business and investment.”
