TBRC, NSUK Join Forces for Innovative Research, Academic Excellence

In what can best be described as a landmark move, the Tukur Buratai Research Centre (TBRC) and Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) have have taken steps to solidify their partnership, paving the way for innovative research, academic excellence, and collaborative success.
This was the crux, as Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai, Chairman of TBRC and former Chief of Army Staff, led a high-level delegation to NSUK, where they were warmly received by Vice Chancellor Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman.
The visit aimed to strengthen the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between TBRC and NSUK, fostering collaboration in various fields, including research, defense and security.
The state-of-the-art TBRC facility, featuring cutting-edge infrastructure, Buratai noted, will serve as a hub for joint research initiatives, seminars, workshops, and conferences.
General Buratai who is also the Garkuwan Keffi and the Betara of Biu Kingdom, commended Professor Liman on her appointment as the first female Vice Chancellor of NSUK, noting the university’s impressive growth and reputation. He highlighted the ongoing research projects at TBRC, including Python medicine and anti-toxin studies, and invited NSUK departments to participate in these initiatives.
“We are excited to collaborate with NSUK, leveraging each other’s strengths to drive innovation and progress,” General Buratai said. “Our research center is committed to advancing knowledge and addressing critical challenges in various fields. We believe that this partnership will yield remarkable outcomes and contribute significantly to Nigeria’s development.” Buratai averred.
Professor Liman expressed her gratitude for the collaboration, emphasizing NSUK’s intellectual capabilities and established departments in agriculture, zoology, biochemistry, and botany. She assured General Buratai of NSUK’s commitment to the partnership, aiming to achieve remarkable outcomes in research and academic pursuits.
“We are eager to work with TBRC, exploring opportunities for joint research, student exchange programs, and capacity building,” Professor Liman said. “Our university is dedicated to academic excellence, innovation, and community engagement. This partnership aligns with our mandate and will undoubtedly enhance our research output and academic programs.”
The historic partnership between the Tukur Buratai Research Centre and Nasarawa State University Keffi remains a pivot in the pursuit of innovative research, academic excellence, and collaborative success in Nigeria. By leveraging each other’s strengths and expertise, both institutions are poised to drive progress and address critical challenges in various fields, ultimately contributing to National Development.
General Buratai was accompanied by the Vice Chancellor, Nigerian Army University Biu, Professor Kyari and the former Army Spokesman Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman (Retd). In attendance were Principal Staff Officers of the University.
