The 41-year-old entrepreneur, estimated to be worth $17 billion, claims to have fathered over 100 children through sperm donation, in addition to six children with three partners. Durov began donating in 2010 to help a friend struggling with fertility and continued after experts highlighted a shortage of healthy donor sperm.
Durov describes his actions as a civic duty, aimed at addressing declining global sperm counts and reducing the stigma around donation. He emphasized that all children conceived through his donation will inherit a share of his estate once DNA links are established. He has also connected falling sperm counts worldwide to environmental factors, such as plastic pollution.
His sperm was previously advertised for free at the Altravita Clinic in Moscow, with IVF expenses covered for eligible women. Though Durov no longer donates directly, stored samples remain available for unmarried women under 38, subject to screening and legal regulations.
Durov stated that his donations have helped couples in more than 12 countries and announced plans to make DNA information accessible so his biological children can connect in the future.
