Terrorist Leader Threatens: “We Will Kidnap President Tinubu” in New Video

A self-proclaimed terrorist commander has released a disturbing video vowing to escalate attacks across Nigeria, including plans to abduct security personnel, state governors, and even President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In the viral footage, the militant—dressed in what appears to be a Nigerian military jacket—boasts about the recent kidnappings of schoolchildren in Kebbi and Niger states. He taunts the government, claiming it has failed to protect citizens and insisting his group remains unshaken despite ongoing security operations.

“We kidnapped school students in Kebbi and Niger states. Next time, we will be kidnapping Nigerian military officers and taking them to the forest,” he said. Displaying his military-style jacket, he added, “Look at the clothes I’m wearing—these belong to a soldier. Nigeria, in the days ahead, we will kidnap a governor, we will kidnap the President, and others.”

The commander went further to dismiss the government’s capacity to safeguard citizens, urging Nigerians to rely on “divine protection” instead. “The government cannot secure you. You people should return to God to protect you and wipe your tears,” he said, ending the video with greetings to his online followers.

The threat comes amid a worrying surge in school abductions across northern Nigeria, raising nationwide concern and intensifying pressure on security agencies to prevent further attacks.
Security agencies have not yet verified the authenticity of the video, but authorities say all threats of this nature are being taken seriously. Investigations are ongoing, and security around key officials has reportedly been strengthened.

Officials urged the public to remain calm, assuring that the government is intensifying operations to dismantle terrorist networks and prevent any attempted attacks.
