THE CERTIFICATE THEY COULD NOT KILL — AND THE AARON’S ROD THAT WILL BUD AGAIN IN CHRIST APOSTOLIC CHURCH
A Moment of Truth for a Church at a Crossroads
THE CERTIFICATE THEY COULD NOT KILL — AND THE AARON’S ROD THAT WILL BUD AGAIN IN CHRIST APOSTOLIC CHURCH
By Ojo Emmanuel Ademola, General Evangelist, CAC Nigeria and Overseas
Every generation of the Church encounters defining moments—moments that test its integrity, its memory, and its commitment to truth. These moments often arrive quietly, yet they carry the weight of destiny. They expose the fault lines between those who stand on truth and those who manipulate it; between those who preserve the heritage of the fathers and those who seek to rewrite it for convenience; between those who fear God and those who fear the loss of influence. Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria and Overseas has now reached such a moment.

For decades, a narrative was carefully constructed and aggressively promoted across the Church: that the death of Baba Nelson Udofia, the last surviving Trustee named on the 1985 Certificate of Incorporation No. 147, automatically invalidated the Certificate. According to the GEC faction, the Certificate ceased to exist the moment Baba Udofia passed on. This claim was repeated so often that many accepted it without question. Yet it was false from the beginning. It was legally baseless, spiritually reckless, and deliberately crafted to mislead the flock of God.
A Certificate of Incorporation does not die with its trustees. Trustees pass on, but the legal identity of the Church remains intact until the issuing authority revokes or replaces it. No such revocation ever occurred. No replacement was ever issued. The 1985 Certificate remains valid, authentic, and binding. It stands today as the true legal identity of Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria and Overseas. And it is preserved, not by those who shouted the loudest, but by the Remnant Movement of CAC Nigeria and Overseas—those who refused to bow to manipulation, intimidation, or historical amnesia.
This survival is not merely administrative. It is providential. It is theological. It is symbolic. It is, in every sense, the modern equivalent of Aaron’s rod that budded.
The 1985 Certificate as the Aaron’s Rod That Budded
In the seventeenth chapter of the Book of Numbers, Israel was torn apart by rebellion, confusion, and competing claims to spiritual authority. The camp was divided. Voices were raised. Factions emerged. The people were weary. God responded not with argument, but with authentication. He commanded that rods from each tribe be laid before Him. Only one rod budded. Only one rod blossomed. Only one rod bore fruit. It was Aaron’s rod. It was God’s way of saying, “This is the true order. This is the legitimate authority. This is the structure I recognise. Let the rebellion cease.”
The 1985 Certificate of Incorporation No. 147 is the rod that has budded in our time. It has survived every attack. It has outlived every false narrative. It has re-emerged despite decades of suppression. It has exposed the illegitimacy of the 1995 Certificate fraudulently procured by the GEC faction. It has vindicated the truth confessed by Pastor E. H. L. Olusheye. And it has now become the divine instrument through which God is calling Christ Apostolic Church back to truth, unity, and renewal.
The rod that budded was not merely a sign; it was a judgement against rebellion and a restoration of divine order. The re-emergence of the 1985 Certificate functions in the same way. It is a divine rebuke to those who have built their influence on deception. It is a call to repentance for those who have misled the flock. It is a summons to unity for those who have been scattered by falsehood. And it is a prophetic sign that God is not finished with Christ Apostolic Church.
The Attempted “Renewal” of a Certificate They Never Possessed
One of the most astonishing and revealing actions of the GEC faction was their attempt to “renew” the 1985 Certificate—despite never having it in their possession. This act alone exposes the depth of the deception that has characterised their approach to the Church’s legal identity.
To renew a Certificate, one must first possess it. One must present it. One must demonstrate lawful custody. Yet the GEC faction attempted to renew a document they had never held, never controlled, and never lawfully obtained. Their action was not merely irregular; it was a tacit admission that they knew the 1985 Certificate remained the authentic registration of Christ Apostolic Church. Their attempt to renew it was an attempt to claim legitimacy by association, even though they lacked the document itself.
This act of desperation mirrors the rebellion in the wilderness, where those who challenged Aaron’s priesthood sought legitimacy without divine mandate. Just as their rods remained lifeless, the GEC faction’s attempt to renew a Certificate they never possessed has been exposed as lifeless, baseless, and fraudulent. The true Certificate—the rod that budded—remained with the Remnant, preserved by providence and protected by truth.
The Confession They Ignored and the Fraud They Protected
In my earlier articles, I laid out the foundations of this unfolding truth. In “The Truth They Fear — And the Unity We Must Now Build”, I revealed the monumental confession of Pastor Olusheye. He acknowledged that the 1985 Certificate was the authentic registration of CAC. He admitted the wrongs. He pleaded for unity built on truth, not propaganda.
But here is the critical fact that many have conveniently ignored: Pastor Olusheye did not hand over the 1985 Certificate. He handed over the 1995 Certificate—the very document fraudulently procured by the GEC faction to replace the authentic registration. His confession exposed the fraud. His action exposed the manipulation. His repentance exposed the truth.
In “The Affidavit They Could Not Bury — And the Dawn of Truth-Based Unity in CAC”, I revealed sworn testimony that aligned perfectly with Olusheye’s confession. Instead of embracing the truth, the GEC faction attempted to bury it, ignore it, or explain it away. Now, with the survival of the 1985 Certificate confirmed, the pattern is undeniable. The confession was suppressed. The affidavit was ignored. The fraudulent Certificate was protected. The authentic Certificate was misrepresented. The narrative was controlled. The flock was misled.
This was not confusion. It was not oversight. It was not administrative error. It was intentional deception.
A Church Misled by Those Who Should Have Protected It
When leaders resist truth, it is because truth threatens something—power, control, influence, or access. When deception becomes a leadership tool, the Church pays the price. A confused generation inherits propaganda instead of history. A divided Church loses its prophetic voice. A manipulated membership becomes a resource to be exploited. A spiritual heritage is traded for institutional politics.
Christ Apostolic Church has suffered these consequences for far too long. The younger generation has grown up hearing conflicting stories about the Church’s identity. Ministers have been forced to choose between truth and institutional loyalty. Congregations have been left bewildered by contradictory claims. And the global witness of the Church has been weakened by internal strife.
The question now is whether the Church will continue to reward deception or insist on truth. Can those who fight the truth continue to rob the Church blind? Can men who know the truth continue to weaponise confusion and still claim apostolic authority? Can a Church that tolerates deception still claim holiness? The answer is clear. The answer is no.
The Dawn of a Renewal–Pentecostal Awakening
The re-emergence of the 1985 Certificate is not merely administrative. It is prophetic. It is symbolic. It is catalytic. Just as Aaron’s rod budded, truth will bud again in CAC. Unity will bud again in CAC. Revival will bud again in CAC. Holiness will bud again in CAC. Apostolic order will bud again in CAC.
The rod that budded ended rebellion. The Certificate that survived will end deception. The rod that budded restored unity. The Certificate that survived will restore CAC. The rod that budded brought revival. The Certificate that survived will usher in a new Pentecostal awakening.
This is the dawn of a new era. This is the hour of divine reordering. This is the moment of truth-based unity. The Church must now choose whether it will continue to reward deception or insist on truth. Unity without truth is hypocrisy. Leadership without honesty is spiritual abuse. Silence in the face of deception is complicity.
A Call to the Entire CAC Family
This article is not written to shame but to awaken. Not to divide but to purify. Not to destroy but to rebuild. The CAC family must now rise and ask the GEC faction why they have chosen deception where truth has already been confessed, why they stand on a lie when the Certificate still stands, and how long they intend to take advantage of the Church under the cover of confusion.
The time for truth-based unity has come. The time for accountability has come. The time for restoration has come. And the truth—long suppressed, long resisted, long feared—has finally budded like Aaron’s rod. A new season is upon us. Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria and Overseas is standing at the threshold of a Renewal–Pentecostal awakening that will restore the integrity of its foundations, the purity of its witness, and the unity of its global family.
The rod has budded. The truth has spoken. The future is calling.
