The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, fnipr, says the programs and reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration are already yielding tangible dividends of democracy for Nigerians.
Speaking on Thursday during an engagement with All Progressives Congress (APC) support groups at Radio House in Abuja, the Minister said the government has fulfilled several key campaign promises and is driving development across all sectors.
“We have fulfilled many of our campaign promises. Students’ loans have been delivered, we have ended fuel subsidy corruption, and states are now receiving more revenue,” Idris said. “Local government autonomy has come to stay, and every region now has its own development commission.”
He added that the economy is showing strong signs of recovery.
“Our economy has rebounded, foreign reserves are growing, and inflation is dropping. We have embarked on massive infrastructure projects across all six geo-political zones,” he stated.
Security Reforms a “Turning Point”
Speaking on the President’s new directives on national security, Idris said Tinubu has approved fresh recruitment into the Nigerian Army and Police, as well as additional support for state-established security outfits. He described these measures as a major shift in Nigeria’s fight against insecurity.
“We must defeat terrorism and banditry and restore safety to our country,” Idris said. “The federal government is firmly resolved to stop at nothing to protect every Nigerian, as guaranteed by our constitution.”
Youth Empowerment Remains a Priority
Idris also noted that the Tinubu administration has given young Nigerians unprecedented opportunities in governance, with many youths appointed to head Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
APC Support Groups Renew Commitment
The Minister urged APC support groups to intensify public enlightenment and promote the achievements of the administration, emphasizing unity and commitment to the party’s founding principles.
Leaders of the delegation, Mrs. Adenike Abubakar and Dr. Abiola Moshood, pledged continued unwavering support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
