Security operatives have arrested a 15-year-old suspect, Tijjani, in Ngamdu, Borno State, in connection with recent attacks in the area.
The suspect was apprehended on Sunday, April 12, following intelligence linking him to the coordinated assault on Benisheik and Ngamdu communities on Thursday.
In a video statement, Tijjani reportedly confessed to moving between Jilli and Ngamdu during the period of the attack. He claimed he was assigned to handle logistics and was given ₦850,000 to procure supplies before his arrest by troops.
He further disclosed that other members of the group remained in Jilli, alleging that he played a role in coordinating plans targeting a security commander.
Security authorities have yet to release further details on the operation but investigations are ongoing to track down other suspects and dismantle the network behind the attacks.
The arrest is seen as part of intensified efforts by security forces to curb insurgent activities and restore stability in affected communities across Borno State.
