The troops, working in close collaboration with the Zango Kataf Police Area Command, Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), Forest Guards, and local hunters, advanced into the forest following actionable information. At about 5:59 p.m., contact was established, prompting the kidnappers to abandon their captives and flee into surrounding bushes as they could not withstand the superior force of the joint team.
The operation led to the successful rescue of eight kidnapped victims, all unharmed, who were subsequently reunited with their families. Those rescued include Mrs Rashida Musa (19), Mrs Hafsat Nuhu (18), Mr Zakari Saleh (52), Miss Hasiya Yahaya (13), Mr Ahmed Yahaya (14), Mr Ibrahim Saiba (11), Miss Salma Yahaya (14), and Mr Sophan Idris (18).
The successful mission underscores the Nigerian Army’s strong inter-agency cooperation, effective ground operations, and continued commitment to safeguarding lives, securing communities, and denying criminal groups freedom of action.
