In a daring raid, soldiers of the 114th Battalion (Rear) of the 6th Brigade Nigerian Army, in collaboration with other security agencies, stormed and destroyed several bandit hideouts and liberated four kidnapping victims in Yorro LGA of Taraba State.
The operation, which began on February 2, 2024, was aimed at rooting out the menace of bandits and kidnappers who have been terrorising the area and its environs. The troops engaged the bandits at Gampu Hills and Ban Yorro, unleashing heavy fire that forced the outlaws to flee their camps, leaving behind the abducted victims. The operation is still ongoing to track down and rescue other hostages who escaped during the gun battle.
The freed victims are Genesis M Samuel (24) from Ganku village, Benard Denis (28) from Fulfualgon village, Esther Titus (35) from Kosanai village, and Isma’il Umar (25), the son of the Emir of Pupulle, who was kidnapped from his palace on January 18, 2024.
