United Nigeria Airlines Attributes Abuja Flight Diversion to Poor Weather Conditions
United Nigeria Airlines, a prominent domestic carrier, has attributed the diversion of an Abuja-bound flight to Asaba, the Delta State capital, to “poor weather” conditions. The incident occurred on Flight NUA 0504 originating from Lagos airport on Sunday.
Drama unfolded when passengers expecting to land in Abuja found themselves in Asaba, with the cabin crew initially informing them that they had arrived at the Abuja airport, causing confusion among the travelers.
In a statement issued by the airline’s spokesperson, Achilleus-Chud Uchegbu, United Nigeria Airlines acknowledged the mistake made by its cabin crew. The airline clarified that the pilots temporarily rerouted the flight to Asaba airport due to adverse weather conditions at the intended destination.
“At all material time, the Pilot of the aircraft was aware of the temporary diversion and was properly briefed. Meanwhile, the aircraft has landed safely in Abuja following improvement on destination weather,” the statement assured.
