Victor Ikpeba Names Mohamed Salah Greatest African in Premier League Ahead of Liverpool Exit
Former Nigeria international Victor Ikpeba has hailed Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah as the greatest African player to have graced the English Premier League.

Salah, who announced last week that he will end his illustrious career at Liverpool at the close of this season, has enjoyed an extraordinary tenure at Anfield. The Egyptian forward has scored 255 goals in 435 appearances and collected a remarkable array of trophies, including two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the FA Cup, two League Cups, and an FA Community Shield.
Ikpeba praised Salah’s statistics and accomplishments, saying, “Considering other remarkable Africans who have participated in the Premier League, his record is outstanding. I would assert that he is the finest. He made the decision to remain for an additional season, which is quite commendable.”
He further noted that while age has begun to affect Salah’s performance, the forward’s legacy remains secure. “He has been the top scorer in the Premier League on three occasions. I do not believe any African player has achieved such a feat. As a winner of the Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cup, he will be remembered for an extended period. This season has been disappointing, but that is the effect of age,” Ikpeba added.
Following the announcement of Salah’s departure from Liverpool, reports suggest that several top clubs in Europe, Saudi Arabia, and the United States have expressed interest in signing the Egyptian international.
