In a show of solidarity and appreciation, Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, visited the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) today to commend the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) for their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s unity.

The visit, marked by a strong sense of camaraderie, aimed to strengthen the collaboration between the state government and the military.
Accompanied by Senate Leader Senator Opayemi Bamidele and other key officials, Governor Oyebanji expressed gratitude to the AFN for their pivotal role in maintaining national security.
He highlighted the critical interventions that have prevented potentially dire situations, emphasizing the importance of the Armed Forces in preserving the nation’s integrity.
During the meeting, the governor drew attention to a pressing concern – the recent tragic killings of traditional rulers in Ekiti State.
Governor Oyebanji earnestly sought increased security presence to prevent further occurrences, underlining the urgency of addressing the situation.
Responding to the governor’s appeal, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Christopher Gwabin Musa assured Governor Oyebanji of the AFN’s continuous commitment to the safety of all Nigerians.
General Musa suggested a collaborative approach, encouraging the governor to engage locals in supporting security agencies to combat criminal activities within the state.
Highlighting a strategic initiative, General Musa advocated for the establishment of a comprehensive database of visitors entering and leaving the nation.
This, he explained, would empower security agencies to monitor and respond swiftly to potential threats, enhancing overall national security.
In a gesture of gratitude, General Musa commended Governor Oyebanji for his unwavering support and dedication to the cause of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
