The Senator representing Bauchi South Sen. Shehu Buba (APC) has distributed 16 trucks of food items to constituents as palliative during the month of Ramadan.
Mr Abdulkadir GaynGayn, Chairman of the distribution committee while presenting the food items to the beneficiaries on Monday in Bauchi commended the senator for the gesture at the needed period.
He described Sen. Buba as one of the few lawmakers in the country that is much concerned about the plights of ordinary Nigerians, particularly the people of Bauchi state.
According to him, the food items, when distributed, will cushion the effect of hardship associated with the high cost of food items in the country on the beneficiaries.
The 16 trucks is a equivalent 29,500, bags of food items which includes 3000 bags of 50kg of rice, 13,000 of 10kg of rice , 3000 bags of 50 Kg bags of sugar, 50,000 of 10kg of sugar,
Others are 3000 bags of millet containing 80 measures, 13000 bags of 10 kg of millet,” he said
The Chairman of the committee who is also the organising Secretary of APC in the State, said, with the kind of good representation exhibited by Sen. Buba, even his opponents are tempted to appreciate him.
“This is simply because, if you have not felt his impact, your son, grandson or your extended family must have tasted his goodness. We want to thank him for that,,’’he said.
Also Speaking, Alhaji Hassan Tilde, State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) expressed gratitude to God for giving the people of Bauchi South, quality representation at the National Assembly.
“We were optimistic that if given the opportunity to become Bauchi South senator, he will perform creditably well and today we are vindicated going by what he has been doing since he became a senator”, Tilde said.
On his part, Sen. Buba said as the only Senator that emerged under the APC among the three senators in the state, resolve to ensure purposeful representation of the good people of the state in general.
“I am the only Senator who won under the APC in Bauchi state. To this regard, I am representing the APC in Bauchi South, Bauchi North and Bauchi Central,
“However I am representing APC, PDP, PRP and all other political parties in the Nigerian Senate and I assure you that they were not left behind in the distribution of the food items “, he said.
“In my capacity as their senator, we have carried them along and I am assuring you that they would get their own share, the food items would be taken to their doorsteps, Insha Allah, ” Sen Buba said.
Buba lauded the state party chairman and the distribution committee under the chairmanship of the party’s organising Secretary for doing a good job so far, saying he was impressed by what the committee had done.
