The remains of the late Emir of Ningi, Alhaji Yunusa Muhammadu Danyaya, were laid to rest on Sunday in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, marking the end of an era for the Ningi Emirate.

The late Emir, who passed away at the age of 88 after a protracted illness, was buried in accordance with Islamic rites, with hundreds of mourners in attendance. The funeral prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Ningi, Dr. Muhammad Umar.

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, who attended the funeral, described the late Emir as a father figure who demonstrated exemplary leadership, fostering unity, progress, and development in Ningi Emirate, Bauchi State, and the country as a whole.

“His Majesty was a shining example of a true leader, who dedicated his life to the service of his people,” Governor Mohammed said. “His wisdom, guidance, and counsel will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on.”

The funeral was attended by dignitaries from various walks of life, including Emirs from within and outside Bauchi State, top government functionaries, politicians, and hundreds of sympathizers.

The late Emir ruled Ningi Emirate for 46 years, making him the longest-serving Emir in Bauchi State. His reign was marked by significant developments in education, healthcare, and infrastructure, transforming Ningi from a rural community to a thriving town.
