Trump Declares Himself “Acting President of Venezuela” in Viral Truth Social Post

Trump has sparked international attention and controversy after posting an image on his social media platform Truth Social in which he refers to himself as the “Acting President of Venezuela, Incumbent January 2026.” The post, styled like a modified Wikipedia entry, also lists him as both the 45th and 47th President of the United States alongside his portrait and assumed office date of January 20, 2025.

The unusual declaration comes amid heightened geopolitical tensions following a recent U.S. military operation in Venezuela that resulted in the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, who were flown to New York to face federal charges.
