The Publisher of Our Nigeria News Magazine, Dr. M.S. Abubakar, PhD, alongside members of his management team, has paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmadu Aliyu Oga Onawo (OON), the Emir of Doma and the 43rd Andoma of Doma, at his palace in Doma, Nasarawa State.

The visit was part of ongoing preparations for the forthcoming 7th OurNigeria News Awards, scheduled to hold on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Abuja Continental Hotel.

According to Dr. M.S., the visit was to formally seek the royal father’s consent and blessing to serve as the Royal Father of the Day at the prestigious award ceremony, which celebrates excellence, patriotism, and outstanding contributions to national development.

The award event will be held under the distinguished chairmanship of Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai (Rtd), CFR, former Chief of Army Staff, further underscoring the significance of the occasion.

In his response, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmadu Aliyu Oga Onawo (OON), graciously accepted the request, expressing appreciation for the honour bestowed upon him.

The Emir commended Our Nigeria News Magazine for its commitment to promoting good governance, leadership excellence, and national unity through credible journalism and public recognition.

The monarch also offered prayers and words of encouragement to the organizers, wishing the award ceremony a successful outing.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. M.S. Abubakar expressed deepgratitude to the Emir for accepting the role of Royal Father of the Day. He described the monarch’s acceptance as a great encouragement and a boost to the credibility and prestige of the 7th OurNigeria News Awards.

Dr. M.S reaffirmed the magazine’s dedication to upholding ethical journalism and celebrating individuals and institutions contributing positively to Nigeria’s growth and development.

The 7th OurNigeria News Awards is expected to attract top government officials, traditional rulers, industry leaders, and stakeholders from across the country.
