Governor Zulum Visits NCAA to Fast-Track International Certification of Muhammadu Buhari Airport
Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, on Tuesday visited the headquarters of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) in Abuja to accelerate the final certification of Muhammadu Buhari Airport for international flight operations.

The closed-door meeting focused on addressing outstanding technical requirements and removing bottlenecks hindering the issuance of the aerodrome license needed for the airport to commence international operations.
Sources familiar with the discussions revealed that Governor Zulum also advocated for the establishment of a regional NCAA office in Maiduguri, a move aimed at strengthening aviation regulation and improving operational efficiency across the North-East region.
The Governor was accompanied by Bukar Talba, member representing Marte, Monguno, and Nganzai Federal Constituency, alongside other officials of the Borno State Government.
The visit underscores the state government’s commitment to boosting connectivity, economic activity, and regional development through improved aviation infrastructure.
