The Nigeria Customs Service Command and Staff College, Gwagwalada, has graduated participants of Junior Course 24, with a strong emphasis on professionalism, impact, and service excellence.

The graduation ceremony, held at the Ahmed Makarfi Hall in Abuja, brought together senior officers, instructors, and invited guests to mark the successful completion of the three-month intensive training programme.

Representing the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, the Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of Finance, Administration and Technical Services, Kikelomo Adeola, urged the graduands to translate their knowledge into practical contributions within the Service.

“You are a light, and all you have learned must not go to waste. Let others benefit from your knowledge and experience,” she said.

Adeola noted that the training had equipped the officers with the skills required to respond effectively to the evolving demands of modern customs operations, stressing that the true value of the programme lies in its application on the field.

In his welcome address, the Commandant of the College, Dow Gaura, described the graduation as a major milestone for both participants and the institution. He commended the officers for their discipline, resilience, and commitment throughout the course.

He also appreciated the continued support of the Comptroller-General in strengthening capacity development, adding that the College is consistently updating its training modules in line with global best practices.

A highlight of the ceremony was the conferment of the prestigious Past Junior Staff Course (PJSC) title on the participants, alongside the presentation of certificates and awards.

Some of the graduands shared reflections on their experiences, describing the programme as rigorous, transformative, and critical to their professional growth.

As part of activities marking the graduation, the College earlier hosted a regimental dinner night on April, fostering camaraderie among officers and reinforcing core values of leadership, discipline, and service.

The successful completion of Junior Course 24 underscores the College’s commitment to producing competent and forward-thinking officers capable of contributing effectively to the mandate of the Nigeria Customs Service and national development.
