Osun: Ejigbo demands fairness, justice in distribution of political power in federal constituency

The people of Ejigbo have called for fairness,unity and Justice in the distribution of political power in Ede, Ejigbo and Egbedore federal Constituency of Osun State.

The people of the ancient community stated this on Wednesday in a reaction to the acclaimed endorsement of Honorable Bamidele Salam currently representing the Constituency for third term.

Speaking on behalf of Ogiyan In:Council, A community leader, Chief Olusola Olapade who stated this while addressing Press Conference in Ejigbo said the community deserved a representation for the seat in the constituency.

Chief Olapade hinted that about four years ago the people of Ejigbo was given assurance and commitment that Ejigbo would be the next local government to produce candidate of Accord party for the election into the federal Constituency.

He said the commitment needed to be considered in the interest of fairness,inclusion and in the spirit of rotational agreement within the constituency .

The community leader called on party stakeholders especially political leaders in the Constituency to be fair in their judgement to avoid political crisis in the constituency.

Some traditional Chiefs who include Ejemu of Ejigbo land ,Chief Sarafadeen Oyelade and magaji of Ogiyan,Prince Olasunbo Oyedade said Ejigbo would not accede to arrangements that will sub change it in the political arrangements of the constituency

They urged political actors in the Constituency to be weary of political arrangements that will lead to political sucide for the constituency.

Speaking on behalf coalization of concerned Egbedore local government citizens, E four consistency,Hon Azeez Kazeem demanded for fairness and justice,saying any attempt to give Hon Bamidele Salam third term would affect political arrangements in the constituency

They urged political leaders in Accord to think critically before taking decision on this crucial matter to avoid unnecessary political unrest in the constituency.

Speaking,Mr Olayinka Basirat from Egbedore said youth must be considerate in the distribution of political power in the constituency,saying for even distribution each local government should not serve more than one term.

It would be recalled that Honorable Bamidele Salam of Egbedore local government has been representing the constituency in the last eight years
