THE PHARAOH WHO KNEW JOSEPH HAS PASSED: WHY GEC’S FEASTING ON DECEPTION MUST END IN CHRIST APOSTOLIC CHURCH

By Professor Ojo Emmanuel Ademola

INTRODUCTION: A CRISIS ROOTED IN DISOBEDIENCE

The crisis that has plagued the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Nigeria and Overseas for more than three decades is not a mere administrative misunderstanding. It is the fruit of disobedience. In 1983, after the death of Pastor E.T. Latunde, God directed through prophetic voices that Pastor Olutimehin should be appointed president. Instead, political manoeuvres prevailed, and Pastor Orogun was appointed. The prophecy was clear: if the wrong man was appointed, God would “visit the Church for many years.” That visitation has manifested in division, litigation, and deception since 1990.

The roots of this crisis are spiritual, not merely organisational. When divine order is ignored, chaos follows. “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.” (1 Samuel 15:23). CAC’s crisis is the direct result of rebellion against divine instruction, and until the Church returns to obedience, unity will remain elusive.

THE REVOLUTION OF 1990: AMBITION ORCHESTRATED AS WICKEDNESS

In 1990, a group of newly ordained pastors, barely a year into ministry, staged what they called a “revolution.” These men were not drawn from the traditional stock of evangelists and teachers but from retired civil servants and professionals. Their ambition was cloaked in reformist language, but in reality their actions were an apparent rebellion orchestrated as wickedness against the leadership of the Church.

They formed the Christ Initiative Forum, which quickly degenerated into a platform for scathing criticism of the Mission’s leaders. At the Pastors’ Conference of 1990, they openly accused Prophet Timothy Obadare of misusing CAC’s platform to build his ministry, WOSEM. They condemned his appointment as Chairman of the Finance Committee, mocking his blindness. This brazen defiance was not reform but revolt, not correction but corruption, not renewal but rebellion.

Their speech caused uproar, and the conference ended in chaos. For the first time in CAC’s history, pastors stormed out of a national conference in anger. What began as ambition escalated into orchestrated wickedness, tearing at the very fabric of apostolic order. Scripture warns, “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.” (1 Samuel 15:23). The so‑called revolution was nothing less than witchcraft in disguise, a deliberate assault on divine order.

Fearing discipline, the Forum leaders rushed to court and obtained an ex‑parte order restraining the mission’s leaders. Thus began the first court case in CAC’s crisis. From that moment, litigation became a weapon of rebellion, and the unity of CAC was shattered.

THE FRAUD OF CERTIFICATES: DECEPTION ENTHRONED AS AUTHORITY

When the Forum evolved into the General Executive Council (GEC), they realised that legitimacy hinged on the Certificate of Incorporation. The authentic certificate, issued in 1985 with registration number 147, was in the custody of Pastor Nelson Udofia, General Secretary since 1969 and one of the trustees. Unable to seize it, the GEC resorted to deception. They filed a false affidavit claiming the certificate was missing. In 1991, the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC Nigeria) issued them a fraudulent certificate. When confronted with the original 1985 certificate, the Commission revoked the 1991 issuance.

But in 1995, collusion within the Commission led to another fraudulent certificate being issued to the GEC. Despite protests, the Commission refused to revoke it. This illegitimate certificate became the foundation of GEC’s deception. They even filed suit at the Federal High Court, Abuja, seeking validation. That case remains pending at the Court of Appeal to this day.

This history proves that the GEC’s authority is built not on truth but on fraud. “Bread of deceit is sweet to a man, but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.” (Proverbs 20:17). Their feast on deception has robbed CAC blind, but it cannot endure. The authentic Certificate of Incorporation of 1985 with number 147 remains the only lawful and spiritual continuation of the 1943 foundation. Every other certificate is a monument to rebellion.

THE MILITARY INTERVENTION: UNRIGHTEOUS POWER AGAINST DIVINE ORDER

Authentic sources confirm that leaders of the GEC sought intervention from one of the leaders of the then Military Provisional Council. This officer’s mother was a devoted member of Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria and Overseas, and through that family connection, the GEC secured influence at the highest levels of power. The officer yielded to their persuasion and fought to ensure that the Corporate Affairs Commission issued the 1995 Certificate in favour of the GEC.

The Commission, under pressure from military authority, had limited or no options at that time. This was not an act of justice but of intimidation. It was not the voice of truth but the voice of unrighteous power. Scripture warns, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice, but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” (Proverbs 29:2). The mourning of CAC over the past three decades is the direct consequence of unrighteous intervention in spiritual matters.

The 1995 Certificate was not born of truth, nor of righteousness, nor of divine order. It was the offspring of collusion between ambitious pastors and external military influence. It stands condemned as an unrighteous decree. “Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees and that write grievousness which they have prescribed.” (Isaiah 10:1).

Yet even in this dark hour, God preserved the authentic 1985 Certificate. Despite attempts to seize it, despite false affidavits, and despite military intimidation, the certificate remained intact. This preservation is not accidental; it is divine. It is proof that God Himself has set the 1985 Certificate as a stumbling block to deception and a cornerstone for restoration. “The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.” (Psalm 118:22‑23).

THE QUESTION OF FAITH AND LEGITIMACY

As I travel from one ministry site to another, the question arises: What will be the faith of those ordained outside the cover of the 1985 Certificate? The answer is sobering. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, but ministry legitimacy is by divine order. “No man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.” (Hebrews 5:4).

Ordinations outside the authority of the 1985 Certificate are illegitimate. They may be sincere, but sincerity does not substitute for legitimacy. They may be zealous, but zeal does not replace divine order. They may be active, but activity does not equal apostolic succession. Their faith is endangered because their priesthood is not rooted in the foundation God established. Until they realign, their labour risks being in vain. “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it.” (Psalm 127:1).

THE REALISTIC SOLUTION: REPENTANCE AND RESTORATION

The way forward is not endless litigation or sentimental compromise. The solution is repentance, restoration, and realignment with truth. CAC must reaffirm the 1985 Certificate, appoint trustees in line with the law, and restore ordination under legitimate authority. “Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the Lord of hosts.” (Malachi 3:7).

This requires courage, humility, and obedience. Leaders must lay down ambition and embrace truth. Members must withdraw support from deception. Ministers ordained outside divine order must repent and realign. The whole Church must choose legitimacy over illegitimacy, truth over falsehood, and divine order over rebellion. Only then will revival break forth. “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalm 11:3).

A PROPHETIC CALL TO UNITY AND REVIVAL

The Spirit of God is calling CAC Nigeria and Overseas to unity. Division has robbed us of revival, but restoration will release it. Renewal–Pentecostal insight teaches that revival follows repentance and restoration. When the priesthood is purified, the anointing flows again. When the foundation is restored, the harvest returns. When the order is corrected, the heavens open.

Unity is not optional; it is a mandate. Jesus prayed, “That they all may be one, as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee.” (John 17:21). Division dishonours Christ. Unity glorifies Him. The world will believe when we are one. CAC must lay aside factionalism and embrace unity under the authentic foundation.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS

In the Name of Jesus Christ, I decree that every veil of deception over CAC is torn away. I declare that every fraudulent certificate collapses under divine judgment. I decree that the 1985 Certificate of Incorporation with number 147 stands as the only authentic foundation of CAC Nigeria and Overseas. I declare that every illegitimate ordination is stripped of influence, and every minister outside divine order receives conviction unto repentance.

I decree that unity, revival, and apostolic restoration sweep through CAC Nigeria and Overseas. I declare that the Spirit of Truth prevails over every faction, every structure, and every agenda. The glory of God returns to CAC in purity, power, and righteousness.

I decree that CAC Nigeria and Overseas enters a new season
