Vice President Kashim Shettima on Tuesday commissioned key economic and infrastructure projects in Ekiti State as part of activities during his one-day working visit to the state.
Representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Vice President inaugurated the new Zonal Directorate Office Complex of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) located along Old Iyin Road in Ado-Ekiti.
Shettima also commissioned the 1.2-kilometre flyover at Okeyinmi, named in honour of President Tinubu. The flyover is expected to significantly improve traffic flow and enhance transportation within the Ekiti State capital.
As part of the visit, the Vice President performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ekiti Knowledge Zone (EKZ), a strategic project designed to promote technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic growth in the state.
Speaking during the events, Shettima described the projects as critical investments that align with the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening institutions, improving infrastructure, and creating opportunities for economic development across the country.
The Ekiti Knowledge Zone is expected to serve as a hub for innovation and digital enterprise, attracting investments and supporting the growth of a knowledge-based economy in the state.
The projects form part of ongoing efforts by both the Federal and Ekiti State governments to enhance infrastructure, promote economic activities, and improve the living standards of residents.
