Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture, noting that the administration’s support for security agencies has contributed to improved safety and reduced criminal activities in Kogi State.
Governor Ododo made the remarks during an inspection visit to the newly established 21 Battalion Army Barracks in Agbeji-Anyigba, where he assessed operational facilities and interacted with military personnel deployed to the area.
The governor said the Federal Government’s strategic investments in security infrastructure and sustained support for the Armed Forces have enhanced efforts to combat crime and maintain peace across the country, particularly in Kogi State.
According to him, the establishment of the 21 Battalion Army Barracks is a significant step toward strengthening security presence in the state and improving the military’s capacity to respond swiftly to emerging threats.
Ododo expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for prioritising security and creating an enabling environment for security agencies to carry out their constitutional responsibilities effectively.
He also commended the military personnel stationed at the barracks for their dedication, professionalism, and sacrifices in safeguarding lives and property.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working closely with security agencies to sustain peace and security across Kogi State, emphasizing that security remains a critical foundation for economic growth and development.
The visit formed part of ongoing efforts by the state government to assess security infrastructure and strengthen collaboration with the Armed Forces in addressing security challenges within the state and its surrounding communities.
